The Momentum Voya E+ was designed with a minimalist approach. From what I saw in my review, this class 1 commuter electric bike looks similar to the Orbea Vibe H30 e-bike, which is also quite minimalist but brings more expensive components.

My Momentum Voya E+ Experience
Things I was content
– I love lightweight electric bikes, and the Voya E+ did not disappoint. I was content with its overall weight of 18 kg.
– I was very impressed with the power of the little 25Nm, 250w rear hub motor. It provided decent power while testing all three (3) PAS, especially the Power mode.
Another thing I was happy about was the aesthetics. At first glance, I found it very elegant and thought it was not an electric bike. The battery is nicely embedded in the low tube, and the small motor configuration hides the bike’s real soul.
– In terms of comfort, the saddle provided enough back support during my test ride. This was great to note, as the lack of any suspension could be very noticeable if riding on gravel roads (not that it was designed for this purpose).
– Another aspect was the number of cage mounts available. This opens up the possibility of carrying more water bottles and longer rides, as well as attaching an extendable battery.
– I found the RideControl Go very easy to operate, but most interestingly, the Auto Assist mode is activated as a go-to for enhanced performance. Not many other e-bikes offer this.
– More about the Power Mode, it was really responsive and smooth when tested on a steep incline, which was surprising as I didn’t feel it lacked any power.
The opportunities
– I’m also a lover of stable and responsive e-bikes. I found the Voya E+ a bit wobbly while taking speed bumps. I presume the tires are too thin in this case.
– I was hoping that this Momentum e-bike model would include a rear rack and lights for commuting use. I know this would increase its cost, but it would remove the hassle of buying them separately.
– Even though the range is good enough for long distances, it would still fall short if you rode with just one battery. The good thing is that an external option is available.
The Momentum Voya E+ Verdict
– I believe Momentum is bringing a good option for users wanting to commute in an urban setting. Definitely, it was not built for any off-road adventures, as it felt a bit wobbly than expected.
– The motor was really impressive, with enough power to ride easily in hilly areas.
– The battery’s small capacity translates to a short range; however, adding an external battery is a great option.
– As observed, it does not come with any extra accessories to make it more appealing for commuting purposes. However, it opens up the possibility of installing most rear rack types and lighting systems.
Overall, the Momentum Voya E+ could be a great option for people with a tight budget who want a decent and good-looking pedal-assisted bike.
